Isaiah Nathanael Sanders is one of the nation’s best kept secrets of fearless young musicians! This creative and innovative drummer has been playing since he was a 1-year-old still mastering how to walk. His earliest influences were his father, Jeremy Sanders, his mentor and elementary drum-line teachers D’Andre Gosey and Kenneth Hughes, and his very 1st Jazz instructor Mr. Vel Lewis.
He has continued to amaze audiences with his drum set solos and provide his band teachers with advanced rhythmic support for every school he has attended. He debuted as an official artist alongside Vel Lewis and other professional musicians at the Edison Arts Foundation Tutus & Tuxes Fundraising Gala in 2018 and has been steadily developing in knowledge and experience since.
He attended the Summer Jazz Workshop hosted by Jazz Educators Inc. the summer of 2019 and officially began his love and appreciation for Jazz, in 6th grade, when he was accepted into the Pershing Middle School Magnet Jazz Band Program under the direction of Miles Davis. He has always maintained his desire to serve God and has faithfully served at local churches as a musician, lighting technician and community service volunteer.
His earliest videos are seen behind an adult-sized drum set playing at his late grandfather’s church in Houston, TX. By the age of 12, he was named as the youngest and brightest musician to be endorsed by Trexist Cymbals USA. He is hungry and driven like none other! He exudes confidence with such humility and aspires to one day play at Madison Square Garden.
