When Braxton was growing up, there was little doubt about what career he would choose, because his talent manifested itself early. As a toddler, Braxton used to beat on pots and pans with a confident rhythm, a playful foreshadowing of his chosen profession. At age eight, he received his first drum set. When he was twelve, he recorded an album with the renaissance, a gospel group comprised of his choir director at church dieon owns. He began touring with them while still in his teens. Performing in the jazz band and local jazz groups dominated his high school years. Today Braxton, a self-taught drummer,who is proficient in a variety of styles, has kept to a largely gospel-oriented musical course,working with many well-known artists.
A resident of Winston-Salem, NC, he counts his years on the road as his greatest professional achievement and responsible for instilling in him both discipline and endurance. His touring schedule has taken him all across the US, As a drummer, Braxton has performed with a great variety of artists covering a wide range of musical styles such as Yolanda adams ,Veshawn Micthell ,Ricky Dillar , Shirley Caesar, Dorothy Norwood, Tye Tribbett,kurt carr, Donald Lawerence , Hezekiah Walker ,CeCe Winans,Walter Hawkins,Vanessa Bell Armstrong,Karen Clark Sheard, Byron Cage, Nat star the King,Pat mother Blues, and many more. Some of the types of music he plays are: Hip-Hop,Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Modern, Rock, metal Rock, Big Band, fusion, ) among playing behind special groups, and even teaching younger drummers how to play, Besides his work as a drummer, Braxton is also involved as a writer and producer. He is currently working with local artist At his local studio in winston salem ,he is preparing to do his own album, coming soon!! 2015 Through out his career he has work with a large variety of college gospel choir, such as Winston salem state unveristy, chapel hill, bennet college, duke unversity, list goes on and he is the assistant musical director at Wake forest university in Winston-Salem, NC. Braxton is right now touring with ( Mother blues he is in rehearsals getting ready for the upcoming shows ) Braxton has perform on the Espn with his band for the chris paul interview. He has also perform at the hornets stadium the lakers stadium as well playing the national anthem for pass games..
